Do You Need PlayStation Plus To Play Fortnite?

By now, if you haven’t heard about Fortnite, you might need to take a quick look at any gaming news feed. Everyone’s favorite battle royale is one of the most talked about games in current times.

Even so, you might have doubts about how to play this game. Whether or not it’s free, does it play on your computer, et cetera. But for those who own a PS4 or PS5, the question that might come up is: do you need PlayStation Plus to play Fortnite?

The short answer is no, you don’t need PS Plus to play Fortnite. The game is free-to-play, which means that, well, you play it for free. All you need to do is to search for the game on your console and download it. You also have to create an Epic Games account, but it’s all free of charge. Take a few minutes of your time and you’re all set.

However, while you don’t need PS Plus to play Fortnite, you can get some cool stuff with the subscription service. There are certain exclusive cosmetic items and packs that only PS Plus players can get. Every so often (usually every other season), a pack is released on the PlayStation Store for subscribers of the service that includes free skins and other cosmetics.

The cosmetics won’t aid you in your firefights, but they’ll make you look really nice.
