In Fortnite, a Timed Device allows you to set a certain time period for action. There are several ways you can use this device, from a countdown to an event to a stopwatch for a specific action. Here are three different ways to use a Timed Device:
Activate a timed device
Activating or deactivating a device is an objective-based gameplay feature in Fortnite. To do so, you must complete a set of requirements. The first requirement is to play three games in Creative mode. The other requirement is to deactivate a Timed Device.
In creative mode, you must use ARs to deal 250 damage to opponents. The final requirement is to create a cheat island. The cheat island should contain 10 Timed Devices and Vending Machines.
You can find this timed device on the eastern part of the alien biome, near the Corny Complex and Scenic Spot. You can activate it from the IO base beneath the Corny Complex.
You must avoid powerful NPCs. But the reward is worth the trouble. When you activate it, you’ll find that it gives you 30k XP. If you manage to complete it successfully, you’ll earn Battle Stars and unlock legendary weapons.
Deactivate a timed device
If you want to deactivate a timed device in Fortnite, you should first know where it is located. This device is located on the eastern side of the central alien biome, near the Scenic Spot and Corny Complex. Once activated, it will appear in a player’s HUD. When the timer is done, you’ll hear a sound and have some extra time, but you need to avoid powerful NPCs.
Trap version of a timed device
The trap version of a timed device is an item that spawns in one location only. You can use it with Items Respawn or Time Between Spawns to bring up a massive amount of items. This device tracks the last item that spawned. When disabled, the items are left in the world but are only available to players who are on your team. Here are some tips to help you use this trap.
The device is placed as a prop on an Island by the creator. This device does not have placement limitations, but it does not let you use it in secret places. The player who triggers it can touch a pad on the front of the device, and the device will start a timer. It can also stop counting once it reaches zero. The trap is great for creating ad hoc games. It is part of Fortnite Creative’s suite of Logic devices.
